A woman has gotten herself into terribly trouble when she was discovered to have killed her own lover within the town of Lagos.
Blessing Edet, a 24-year-old lady, defendant of stabbing her lover, Edet Ebong to death over an ring was yesterday ordered by an Ikeja Special Offences Court, Lagos to open her defence.
New Telegraph reports that Edet allegedly killed her 33-year-old lover on August eighteen, 2015, at his apartment, at No. 1 Falana Street, Ogombo, Lekki, Lagos and was docked on a 1 count charge of murder.
An investigative officer, Asp Adetola Elumero, who testified before the court, said that one Esther Ebong (deceased sister) reported the incident at the Nigerian police headquarters, Ogombo on August 20, 2015.
Elumero, who was led in evidence by the State Prosecuting counsel, O. A Bajulaiye-Bishi, aforesaid that the deceased’s sister expressed that her young brother fought together with his girlfriend at his apartment over an ring he gave to her.
The ipo stated that the complainant reported that it absolutely was throughout the fight that Edet allegedly injured Ebong with a kitchen knife and he slumped.
“She additionally said that the victim was instantly rush to a non-public hospital where he later died” the ipo said.
Narrating the result of his investigation, Elumero said, “it was discovered that the defendant and also the deceased were lovers both living together at the same apartment.

“On the August 18, the deceased came back from work and asked the suspect to arrange food (indomie) for him. whereas the suspect was getting ready the food, the deceased detected she wasn’t carrying her ring.
“And once he confronted her on the reason behind the missing ring on her finger, a fight ensured. it absolutely was throughout the fight that the suspect injured the deceased with a kitchen knife. He later died fee hours when being rush to the hospital.

Meanwhile, the prosecuting officer had earlier tendered one blood stained tee shirt labelled AKTC; pieces of broken glass; one cutlass; and post mortem reports of the deceased, as exhibits before the court.
Bajulaiye-Bishi told the court that prosecution has closed its case and also the defence is to open their case.
Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo then adjourned the matter until August seven for defence.
