Kate Middleton was forced to snub a major milestone due to her royal engagement with Prince William in Pakistan.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have just kicked off their royal tour to Pakistan on Monday. Many deemed the visit the most complex tour for the royal couple.
While Prince William and Middleton expressed their excitement for the said tour, the duchess is missing an important event at home. Middleton’s nephew Arthur is turning one and she was not there to celebrate with her family.
Arthur is the son of Pippa Middleton and James Matthews. Although Middleton was not around, her kids Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis were expected to join their cousin after school for a special family gathering.
Middleton is very close to her family. Middleton, James and Pippa have been involved in running the Middleton’s family business Party Pieces. Due to the nature of their business, throwing Arthur a perfect party for his first birthday would be easy for the family.
Middleton’s mom Carole revealed that first birthdays are very important for the royal mom of three. Prince William’s wife usually takes charge of the family’s First Birthday brand for a stint.
“Catherine started the First Birthday brand – she chose the products and looked after all the imagery and the catalogue production,” Carole said about Middleton’s involvement in their business.
“Pippa set up the blog, as we didn’t have one. James came up with the idea of personalised cakes and got them off the ground for us.”
The Middleton’s family business has been around for many years already. However, there were times when they were accused of cashing in on Meghan Markle. Party Pieces once used Markle’s name for a promotional ad. Just recently, they also used the name of Markle’s son Archie for another ad.
While Prince William and Middleton are away, it is believed that their kids are under the care of their nanny Maria Teresa Turrion Borrallo. It’s also possible that Middleton’s parents Michael and Carole look after the royal children as they often do this when the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are in another country for an official tour.
